A Little About Me
Hello there! My name is Michelle Moniz and I am so excited to be your child’s 5th grade teacher this year! I want to know ALL about you, but first I will tell you a few things about me. I grew up in South Florida and attended Florida Atlantic University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. This year will be my 10th year teaching and my 8th year teaching 5th grade! I have two children who are also attending Ballentine this year. While teaching is my passion, I also enjoy playing with my dogs, reading, and swimming. Please be on the lookout for more class info in the next few weeks. I am looking forward to a great year!
I want to work together as a team to make sure your child is successful this year. It is imperative that your child is fluent in 1-12 multiplication facts because most of fifth grade math builds from them. It is recommended that your student practices multiplication facts daily. I will provide digital flashcards when school starts but you can also find some at the dollar store.
