      My name is Alicia Lehmkuhl, and this is my eighth year teaching Fifth grade at Ballentine Elementary. I love teaching fifth grade and am excited for another year at BES. I have seventeen years teaching experience in Grades 4-6. I grew up in the Catskills of New York and attended SUNY Plattsburgh, located by Canada, for my undergraduate degree. I received my Master's in Reading from SUNY Albany.     My husband was in the military for many years, and we have lived in many different places. I have taught in New York, Virginia, Texas, and North Carolina. My family and I live in Apex. My daughter, Maddie, is a Senior at MCHS and my son, Ryan, is a Sophomore at ECU. We have two cats who are siblings: Scottie and Miles.​​ My hobbies include spending time with my family, going to the beach, attending sporting events such as the NCFC/Courage soccer games and the Carolina Hurricanes hockey games. I also  enjoy live music/concerts, Karaoke (not that I am a great singer-haha) and spending time with my friends.
